The sea is a scary thingSo I wanna introduce another CA character very badly but before doing so, I felt like being responsible and actually working on some other CA challenge to make sure my characters are actually used (and the effort put into creating the challenges doesn't go to waste).
For that, I chose my boy Deuce having to be my victim for the CA fears challenge!!!
I had a lot of stuff in mind for Deuce, lots of it being related to his past, but those were all too vague, nothing to put the finger onto to give it an actual name, weirdly specific fears not fitting what the challenge wanted-
That was until I remembered the discomfort with the sea I had cursed Deuce with.
I don't even know why I had originally done that. It was merely a decision that just felt right. However, I proceeded to think about it and things ended up making perfect sense-
As much of a rebellious hothead as Deuce is, he does love to know facts to think about possible things his ability could cause when he uses it (and how to use it to his advantage).
Most things can be calculated one way or another-
Not the unknown tho.
He hates and fears the unknown depth of the sea (but also kind of fears what actually IS known about the sea. There are hella terrifying creatures in there he doesn't wanna summon by accident.
At this point, shoutout to @diasgith who educated me about creepy fish and ensured that I'll never step into the ocean myself).
He can't calculate what the sea can do.
There are too many options already, yet there remain possibilities unknown to mankind!
Possibilities he couldn't consider in his actions!
Deuce often is an idiot. Yes. He bets to win half a hotdog while risking to loose his soul...50/50 chance.
He gladly does that for the thrill.
The ocean, however, is too much of a risky thing and he doesn't want to endanger others through possibilities he couldn't take into consideration this far.
I mean,,,, we literally known more about space than mankind knows about the damn ocean.
He likes to keep his distance from larger bodies of water. (Seriously, he'd never actually go for a swim in the sea)
Having to act in an emergency case around such a place would bring him closer to panic than anything else could.
He'd probably even just deny helping someone if it'd mean for his ability to be used around the sea.
So yeah, that's that-
We'll meet again soon if things work as planned because damn do I have many ideas

Omg me and Deuce have the same fear! Except I live in a place near the ocean and go there often so it's very scary
