We worshipped queer gods before the spanish came and told us to be Christian
More sheeps than human 0-0
I can't think of any good ones, I feel like the South has all the cool culture and folklore stuff 😭 but uhh we don't say "happy birthday" before someone's birthday, only on or after the day, and our trains are always late. We also pretend like certain cities or federal states don't exist
I've learned specifically in my household, we really love to use idioms, phrases that mean something else. Here's one, "you have the cart before the horse!" Which means you're jumping ahead skipping steps that are important, simply doing things out of order
We greet elders by taking their hand and pressing it on our forehead
We butcher pigs, cook it's innards and stuff it back in it's skin with rice...

Got years of trauma listening to the painful cries of those pigs 😭
There's a kind of lettuce shaped glass salad bowl that pretty much every household has~
The people in my religion made wedding rings from nails because they/we were poor. (Summary from dad to kid me)

Other than religious culture, lefse. If I remember anything else in the morning I'll let you know
We put tissue packets on tables at food courts/hawker centres to reserve seats!
We make a batch of sourdough starter and give some to our friends so they can make bread as well. They have to grow the batch and keep it alive, then give some of theirs to their friends. We call it 'friendship bread'.
In my culture: Do not wear green hat. That means your girl/boyfriend or spouse is cheating on you
Hmmm, in March we build big and beautiful sculptures and burn them :D
For the place I was born-it’s dirty! Like really dirty. I always tell tourists to not visit the Hollywood star walk of fame cuz it sucks
For the place I grew up- there used to be a giant statue of the national animal, the merlion. You could walk around and take a tour of Singapore’s cultural history. You got a token at the end to win a prize (I always got fans). Also people carry umbrellas when it’s sunny out to avoid sunburn
For where I live now- uh there’s not really much frankly, it’s a planned city and awful, the suburbs are slowly killing me. But it used to be a large horse ranch, turned giant orange groves, now it’s the most boring city in America or at least a contender for one
We speak the oldest language in Europe and no one knows where it really comes from!
Does America have cultural?😭
Well, since it’s summer… Kupala Night is widely celebrated still! I don’t know how it is for religious folk, but for us sinners it’s more of a reason to take a small vacation to a lake or a river (or at the very least play with water guns outside). Kids and random jerks can drench you without consent though but oh well 🤷
