What’s a piece of media you think is criminally underrated??
I’ll go first:
Onyx Equinox,
it was the real first Crunchyroll original, and it’s actually fucking amazing. (Unlike High Guardian Spice. ) it’s literally one of like,,, 3 decent representations of indigenous Mexican culture and mythology. I now carry Around a plastic axolotl for luck bc of this show. I’m tried of people giving high guardian spice attention instead of this masterpiece.
NO EVIL.
Amazing animated YouTube series that has been going on since like,,, 2013??? Anyway it owns my entire heart and I can honestly say I enjoy the entire cast. (Except Charles, fuck you Charles) there is so much heart in this little series and it deserves the world.
Also great rep, it takes a lot of influence from indigenous American folklore and classic literature.

Maybe i was just late to the party but like Fantastic Mister Fox?? Isle of Dogs; features a group of 5 dogs that are exiled like every dog in Japan to a dumping isle in the middle of the ocean, a boy comes to the isle trying to find his dog that was taken from him and the 5 dogs try to help him find his dog and get off the island. In the process the alpha of the small pack, who was not very fond of humans learns to enjoy the boy's company while they're together
The Grand Budapest Hotel,
A lobby boy and a concierge make a deal to steal a painting for a dead woman and some people chase them over the mountains.
That's all I'll say if anyone who sees this wants to go watch it. It's a great comedy, made in a unique style!

I feel like it didn't get that much hype as it could've? I get that some people don't get the time and space jumping stuff but just visually it's already amazing by how close they got with the cgi of the black hole now that we actually have pictures of a black hole!!

rurouni kenshin (Samurai X) is an underrated 90’s anime and even the live actions too! Especially in the western audience it such a good anime which is based on actually events that happened during the 11th year of the Meiji period in Japan (1878) and follows a former assassin from the Bakumatsu, known as Hitokiri Battosai. After his work against the bakufu, Hitokiri Battosai disappears to become Himura Kenshin: a wandering swordsman who protects the people of Japan with a vow never to take another life. He uses a special sword that has a revered blade so is used mainly for protection but can become a deadly weapon if the users is trained correctly. Just the music, atmosphere, character development and story is so fascinating it just gives a glimpse into that time period where samurai were forced to leave their swords and life behind to reform to a new Japan due to western influence. Also unlike most live action adaptations of anime which lets be honest are terrible 
, the ones for rurouni Kenshin are just perfect! It like the director knew the story and knew what he had to do to not disappoint fans or those who are new to it. I just think people need to appreciate classic 80’s and 90’s anime more so can appreciate modern anime better~

Russian Doll. It was a fun show based on groundhogs day. And trying to figure out to live life and not give in. It was also about facing the past too, from my interpretations. Maybe even two sentence horror stories, it is anthology horror series on hulu or Netflix

Bone deserves more love tbh.
If you don't know, it's a comic series following the Bone cousins (funky lil things idk how to describe them) trying to find their way home, stumbling across a valley where drama and mysteries unfold...
I grew up with it and mY GOD IS IT UNDERRATED AF- I can't say much since it's been a long time since I've read it and idk how much of it would just be me speaking from nostalgia, but I seriously love the lore it makes and the amazing characters you meet. I think that was a big inspiration for my creativity growing up.
Reading the end still makes me bittersweet... it'll always have a place in my heart.

ALSO UH the movie museum (2016)! Its not like a masterpiece but it's a cool slasher thriller and theres this twist at the end but its rly subtle, but when I was reading the reviews of it a While ago it just fuckin went over most of the critics' heads and they marked it way down for the ending being too happy bUT ITS NOT ITS GRRRR AAUAUAGGGHGHG THE CYCLE OF EVIL IS BEING PERPETUATED ITS LITERALLY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

ANIMORPHS MAN I LOVE IT…
i know most people know it but i think most people only really know it for being the children’s series with the really weird covers, it deserves more than that. It actually has some really powerful, heavy themes that I think are super interesting and actually changed my point of view a few times. The things it decides to tackle are very surprising and well-done, more often than not! Also the characters are really lovable, in my opinion.
It’s all in free PDFs online now too, so anyone can read them! that’s how i read most of them :)
