I do respect the artistry as well, but sometimes the drama of it and the uncandidness of bursting into song and dance in the middle of nowhere breaks my immersion in the film. I can enjoy some musicals sometimes, though. It depends on the subject material, the musicality of the songs, and my tastes.

For real, there’s only like one or two that I genuinely like. I heard the day before yesterday there’s gonna be a Back To The Future musical and I’m just- blegh
