anyone who wants to can participate, as long as you use your own art ^-^
ALSO!! there is no deadline, feel free to make a character for this whenever you’d like, this will still be open as long as this post exists! (and i do not plan on deleting it lmao)
one more rule is that they must have something in their design that is a way to have oxygen out in space! the deck is shielded but has no oxygen while they are above-deck! as you can see for loretta, one of the more common methods is a veil attached to the hat that makes a little oxygen pocket!
they do not have to be human, if you want to do a cool alien design!
you can create a character in any role you would like (other than captain) but if you would like to see if anyone else has someone in a single person job yet, thats cool too! hoping for it to be somewhat balanced but i dont wanna be super strict on what job you can or cant create a character in.
You can also create a general crew member without a specific job if you’d like!
If you need, here is a list and short description of some jobs you could use:
Navigator- Someone trained to chart where the ship needs to go and find the best path from destination to destination!
Quartermaster- Kind of the captain’s right hand, makes sure the crew performs tasks and takes care of day to day operations and tasks, along with dividing up loot.
Boatswain- Someone who keeps the ship in shape for travel and battle.
Cooper- Someone who makes sure barrels are secure and stored properly.
Mechanic- Someone to help perform fixes that the ship may need.
Doctor/Surgeon- Pretty self explanatory, to make sure any crew can receive treatment they may need while away from home.
Master Gunner- Someone to keep the guns in working conditions, and make sure the gunners practice proper safety.
Engineer- Someone who can ensure the safety of the engine, and fix it if need be. Often works with any mechanics on board.
Cook- Someone to make sure the crew has something warm to eat, rations out food in order to make it through long journeys.
Musician- Someone to keep the mood light and entertain on long nights.
If you come up with any other job that you would like to use, that is welcome too :)
It also doesn’t necessarily have to be someone who would stay on the ship for a long time, for instance a hired mercenary or bounty hunter!
Feel free to come up with a backstory if you’d like, I would love to read them! Not necessary though if you just wanna design someone who looks super cool :)
