@danny_fox's post on Artfol

Hello, doing a stream tomorrow where I'll be chatting about some bad/awful artist advice

What are some art advices that you think are really bad? Might chat about them too tomorrow

Edit: thought I would feel better today, but I'm still not feeling like streaming and I don't want to put out low energy streams, since that would be just boring.
Idk when the next stream will be, but if you don't want to miss it, you can follow me on Twitch and get notifications on when I go live

People who act like references/tutorials are bad or "cheating"
Not a specific advise but sugar coating the shit out of criticism is bad and shit
"You should try out every technique/material before settling for one"

No you don't, you can try out the ones that you wish to know more about, might help you if you're stuck in a loop of drawing the same this over and over
And also some people can't afford to try out every material there is
Saying "draw it like this" and only showing the end result and not the process
Just saying “practice” and not adding anything else with it
