The Maned Cat was the island's greatest wizard. He worked for the island king for a long time but grew tired of the dramas of the court. He no longer wanted to use his magic for violence and pettiness so he retreated to the jungle, and has been living there since.Many have sought him out for his powers but most haven't returned since the Maned Cat would gobble them up and spit out their bones if their offering didn't please him or if they tried to take him using violence.
The fisherman's dear wife had fallen ill with an incurable disease. He called all the doctors and magicians on the island to find a cure but none could find one. His desperation led him to seeking out the place where the Maned Cat lived. He had no money left to offer the cat so he offered him a rare twin tailed fish that he had caught.
