Comic update!
I am currently stuck at making the thumbnails for chapter four, although I'm nearing its end
I also came up with an ending I'm satisfied with, and since I never scripted chapter 9, the final chapter, I can also do that now. I have drawn one single page, and before moving to the next ones, I have to:
ā¢practice drawing backgrounds (I'd really appreciate some help on how to do that)
ā¢find a better stylized way to draw all the cats
These are my top priorities for now, and I was also thinking of making an action figure of Jef and Zoya using clay so I can have it as a reference for when I'm drawing them (I'm not even that good at clay making but oh well). The thought of making blender models has crossed my mind but I'm a bit hesitant because of how difficult it must be 
My main problem though right now is that I can't find any free time to work on the comic. I value my relaxation time during the day and I also have to study, so it gets a bit hard, but i want to try and work on the comic at least cor 15 minutes per day.

And yeah, backgrounds really are difficult. I don't draw them very much, as you probably know, but I do have a few tricks I like to use when I do draw them ;). Firstly, I like to keep in mind that environments/sceneries have a foreground, a mid-ground and a background, it helps me organize all the elements I add to the scene. And for actually practicing drawing scenes like this, my favorite method is to go on Pinterest and find a few references, then combine them. For example, a fairytale castle combined with a creepy forest. Or I take just the basic shape of the castle and invent my own details. Another fun exercise is to draw a room in your house and change the whole purpose of it, like drawing your kitchen as a potion master's shop. It's really fun! The most important thing to remember, though, is that everything can be simplified into basic shapes, like squares and circles. Then just fill in the details!
