Idk who needs to hear this, but if you think your idea/fandom/oc is cringy then dont let these thoughts get to you and just enjoy making art
I myself have struggled with this ever since I started drawing. People would tell me that anything I made was cringe and that resulted in very bland ocs that werent fun to me :/
Even on the internet I let myself get influenced by cringe culture, youtubers like Pkrussl would make me lose interest in creating characters or animations because "why even try if its gonna be cringy anyways?"
For the first couple YEARS of my art journey I didnt draw any humans because I was afraid of them looking bad or beeing cringy.
And its just so sad so see that SO many young artists ideas get blocked just because they are cringy or whatever.
Yes, it might be cringy. But cringy doesnt equal bad, its about having fun even if that sounds horribly cliche. Nobody expects you to make anything perfect, go with the flow.
(Dont forget that hurting somebody with your art is still a bad thing, but as long as you dont hurt anybody its all good)Oct 2, 2021

i remember when i was heavy in the homestuck fandom everyone was saying its impossible to have male fuchsias,lime bloods are extinct there for no one can make them,you cant have albino trolls,they have to wear black t shirts and pants ect there were so many rules and i was so scared of ever breaking these unofficial rules in fear of people judging me or my oc’s and calling me out.Im glad i broke out of that phase because im breaking nearly every “rule” now days and i see other people with mutants and limebloods and stuff too now and i think it’s great
