My experience here has been pretty good! When you comment something on a post, people tend to reply to you!
My art actually gets attention on here & sometimes people actually leave a nice comment about my art!
There isn’t much of an algorithm here, which I like! Because of it, the best way to grow on here is to interact with other users through either complimenting art or through the Community Tab! There aren’t really any popular artists still active on here (because they made accounts & either didn’t like Artfol in its launch state or because they didn’t want any impersonators), so it sorta helps the chill feeling Artfol tends to have!
There have been a pair of known ban-evading “hate trolls” on here (“elf/dwarf guy” & “kys guy” respectively) but their accounts tend to get banned quickly after they start to do stuff that clearly breaks the TOS. Both have a handful of known accounts still unbanned, but they’re currently inactive, but if they do become active on them again, they’ll probably get banned so it should be fine. As long as you don’t interact with the users like them & report & block their accounts, it should be fine!
Art thieves also usually get banned too, as long as they’re reported & you can find where the OG art came from, of course! Which is pretty nice because I know Instagram is just FULL of stolen/reposted content.
Overall, most users are pretty nice & fun, & there’s just a few bad apples via harassers, art thieves, & bots (bots also tend to get banned too!)
