If DnD classes were sci-fi instead of fantasy, what do you think some examples would be? I'm working on a bard character but I think it would be fun to do a sci-fi combo! So far some of the potential classes I have to mix are pilot, engineer, & biologist.Apr 17, 2021

Starfinder has some really good sci-fi classes! To list a few;
Mechanic - Basically artificer but so much cooler because, ya know, sci-fi.
Operative - Basically a rogue, but so much more. They’re skills are off of the charts good
Biohacker - Okay, so, they’re an alchemist but super sci-fi. They hack into the biological systems yo
Envoy - A non-magic support/diplomat
Solarian - Are they jedi? Are they paladin? Whose to say but they’re cool!
Vanguard - Think a paladin but they use physics instead of faith
Witchwarper - They get their magic from breAKING THE RULES OF SPACETIME
Technomancer - Think a sorcerer but with tech instead of metamagic

•Haven’t quite thought this trough but here is my hot take: bards are artists, like singers, dancers, or illustrators. And clerics are medical professionals (I.e: a nurse who carries adrenaline shots which cure the living and harm the undead :0) thas all. Sorry ^^

A bard with weird electric futuristic instruments would be cool. Is it a sci-fi fantasy with magic? I know there are a couple sci-fi ttrpgs out there that you can probably take inspiration from too

•I’m currently running a campaign using the Shadowrun 5e mechanics. (They don’t use classes they use archetypes) I love the mechanics of the riggers, it’s like a technologically advanced rouge but with drones and a drivers licenses and it’s just funny but also really cool

•A medic would probably be a good equivalent (in terms of game) to the cleric class? Healing oriented and probably with specific oaths and all that jazz, but more oriented toward medical practice :D that would be interesting to play I think
