QOTD: (aka me asking for help lmao)
If you make sketches, what do you include and how do you do them?
For example, what guideline do you use, do you have specific “rules” you like to keep in mind?

I’m really bad at making efficient sketches so I’m trying to get better at it, and make more helpful ones :D

Try doing gestures! You can use QuickPose or LineofAction and do 60 second gestures, Lemme tell you it’ll help you learn to sketch really fast and efficiently. And it might seem kinda daunting at first but trust me, 60 seconds is a good time for them.
It kind of depends on what you’re practicing/creating? For me I do different types of sketches. I’m either sketching mindlessly, practicing, or planning.
Use colors. I can give u a tutorial I made :D on Instagram, I made this specially for a friend of mine and I think u also needed it :)
What's most important for me in sketches is the composition, so how the each form interacts with each other. Then a notion of movement and intention (in the mood or expression for example). Sometimes I add the main shadows but not so much 🙂
I feel like if I started to explain every step on how I do sketches, it would be veryyyyyy long, but if you need anything specific, let me know, would love to help! Just send me a dm or ask me here
Little tip I learned, try shading your sketches a bit, so they look nicer
For sketches, I do the circle for the head really quick and then the lines where the face’s features would be. And for the rest of the body I draw in shapes like squares and circles! Kinda like gesture drawing :)
Sometimes I do just the head and just unplan the rest of the body, sometimes they turn out good but mostly they come out bad hahhaha
For me( I usually draw people), I'll start by doing a basic construction of the body, then on another layer sketch out the details, then do lineart. If it's a particularly complicated pose / piece or I'm referencing an image, I'll do the line of action, then simple stick and pose, then body construction, then character details, then lineart.

This can also be applied to other topics of drawing. Like environments. Map out your basic shapes, sketch out the details, then linework.

I usually do 1-3 sketches, but I've heard the more detail you sketch / the more you refine your sketch, the better your lineart / overall art will be
So I do 4 sketch layers
Wireframe:general posing idea. Super basic
General sketch: blocking in the shapes I want. Super ugly and rough but it’s the best way to put in the rough shapes for the details later
Body sketch: I do an entirely detailed body sketch basically treating it like how I’m gonna line. Doing it without drapery/fabric helps me catch any bad parts of it, adjust, and then have a frame to work off for when I do the clothes
Clothes: this goes on top of the body sketch. Same this is what I’m basically gonna line mentality

Sometimes I use more, sometimes I use less. My best friend uses just a wireframe to work off of for example. It just depends on how you streamline and feel comfortable balancing time and effort into your process
I do construction lines first, so basically blocking out the general idea of the drawing. Then, I’ll go back in and actually draw the character with all their features. I don’t usually follow the sketch 100% when doing the lineart, I just kind of go with whatever looks best to me.
I'm not sure what u mean tbh, but I have some example of sketches posted
