Does anyone have advice for drawing more masculine bodies? I have watched plenty of videos with anatomy and even when I break it down, I still struggle and I am left unsatisfied with the end result,,May 5, 2021

I’d say find a reference really and just study that hard. Maybe find a female reference too and put them side by side and make notes of what is different between the two. Usually more sharper edges around the joints for men and softer shapes for women. Women have the hourglass body shape usually, men have a dorito shape. Wider shoulders and more pronounced shoulders for men, thinner necks for women.
Maybe try playing with some cheap clay and see if you can sculpt some muscle.
For an anime/cartoon style, rather than an hourglass, the torso is shaped more like a trophy or a margarita glass. Narrower hips and wider shoulders? Other than that, real life references are a good idea.
Honestly- as it is currently what I'm doing for myself, reference jojo's bizarre adventure 🤣 they're like SUPER mega masculine, which is the opposite of what i draw l, but because of that I'm able to learn from a more extreme anatomy angle it helps me learn a bit more on how I'd want to turn out it down. Dunno may help some!
Using a pose reference of a masculine body helps ;u;
