OLD ART vs NEW ART
This drawing was not my first time making digital art by a long shot - there were hundreds of drawings before it - but it's one example I could find from when I was a teenager, 15+ years ago, and made by me, using ms paint.I think the "four eggs in a blue glass" shows my current technical skills the best, it's 100% drawn by my own two hands using digital brushes. It shows my skills even though I actually don't gravitate towards realistic art. I actively dislike realism, but there's a lot to learn from it.
I wanted to get comfortable using different brushes and this exercise really helped. I also wanted to spend weeks and months returning to the same image, and I did, so it was a big success.
It's also a success because I started a challenge here that encourages people to draw faces on the eggs and I'm so happy that so many artists have participated with their amazing drawings. So much fun came from one image.Apr 24, 2023
