There is something extraordinarily satisfying about finding a new way to use old art supplies you were instructed to purchase around 11 years ago for a single class, and hadn't touched ever since!

I'm talking about walnut ink, in this case. It's called brou de noix in French and the small tub I have contains dry brown flakes derived from actual walnuts. We were told to dilute it in water and paint washes with it for that class, and I don't even remember what I ended up painting with it πŸ˜‚
Anyway, I found out that people also use this very same thing to tint light pieces of wood and make them much darker. It's the same as walnut stain. So... Undecorated wooden things, here I come! πŸ‘€

i never heard of that ink as well, do you make it yourself or do you buy it? I'm asking because lately i've been making my own paints and this one seems so cool!
