Bonbon500 (DTIYS Entry)
I’ve just finished another digital artwork, and this time, it’s an entry for a draw-this-in-your-style challenge. The host of this challenge is Bonbon_Illustrator, and I remember they posted it years ago, but I wanted to give it a try now.The piece features a young girl with long, flowing pink hair that almost looks like candy floss. Her hair has this wonderful, soft texture that winds around her shoulders, with some of it braided in delicate strands. I decided to add little accessories like colourful bows, butterflies, and fruit clips, which are scattered throughout her hair. There are tiny pearls, and one of my favourites is a strawberry clip nestled near the bottom of the braid. The vibrant watermelon slice and soft pastel bows help give her this playful, innocent look.
Her face has a gentle expression, and her bright turquoise eyes seem to pop out against the soft pink shades of her hair. She has such a warm, captivating smile that draws you in immediately. Her pose is slightly shy, with one hand placed near her collarbone, and there’s this subtle touch of elegance in how she’s styled. I tried to capture the innocence and sweetness of the original design while adding my own flair to the overall vibe of the artwork.
I felt a sense of nostalgia while working on this, imagining how viewers would enjoy the delicate balance between the youthful playfulness and the serene beauty of the character.Oct 4, 2024
