No favorite brands yet, but I'll check what watercolor paper brands I have in the morning and get back to you on that. I know that it's cold press paper

•I recently bought this type of watercolor paper and it's pretty good! It's called "Acqua Nova Belle arti Musa Milano (watercolor)" italian brand with some pretty cool papers. They make papers even for markers specifically. They have a few types ^^
Thin grain if I recall

•Baohong HP paper as a really good price pointfor it's quality! (At least the 100% cotton one! I get it on Aliexpress)
Otherwise Etchr HP cotton sketchbook have one of my fav paper!! I kinda wish they'd sell some of it in loose sheet too~
On the wood pulp category I love my Canson XL Multimedia, but its the sketchbooks that I've used for years, I've come to know the way the paper will react so well that I'm probably biased about it haha

•Fabriano Soft watercolor paper is a nice treat if you're looking for watercolor paper. It's not completely smooth like hot pressed but it's not as textured as cold pressed. You have to buy it in huge sheets iirc but it's worth it to measure it and cut it yourself with an x-acto knife.

•I honestly use several types for different mediums. Sketch or drawing paper is mostly for sketching for me. But my graphite drawings are on either mixed media paper or bristol since it's smoother for blending. Marker is done on marker paper for ease of blending and more vibrant. Paint wise I use canvas for my acrylics and I am still learning about watercolor paper.
