Birdtober Day 14: Killdeer
[Inktober Day 15 / Birdtober Day 14] This morning, I was fortunate to see many birds I haven't painted yet while rollerblading. The first one I came across got to be today's bird, so the killdeer it is. These plovers are a bit absurd-looking with their huge eyes and long skinny legs. When a killdeer sees a predator while near its nest, it will stagger away, dragging its wing as though it is broken. Once the predator follows this easy prey a safe distance, it flies off, losing the predator and returning to its nest.Oct 17, 2021#killdeer
