Makoto slowly scuffed his toe on the ground, looking anywhere but at him. He seemed very awkward. He was never good at giving gifts huh…? He had to smile, it was too cute.
“Are you going to open it?” His friend still wasn’t looking him in the eyes, and seemed to be getting antsy. Mamoru decided to be merciful and nodded.
“If it’ll make you happy, Makoto.” Still unable to quell his amused smile, he very gently pushed open the top of the box to see… a cake. Clearly a homemade one, carefully frosted. All vanilla. He’d only mentioned that he liked that once, off-hand, and Makoto remembered? His whole chest grew tight with affection.Dec 6, 2024
