Bold And beautiful watercolor skiesIt’s really incredible how the lines on the water helps hide some of the mistakes. I remember learning this in the acrylic painting class. I don’t love this. I want to retry in the future
I got a sketch box shipment, including a grab bag and several items that I ordered. So I boxed the colors. Derwent intense pigment is bright however it does not dissolve well with water. It took a really long time to get to water too dissolved the paint. It was difficult to work with the graphite paint. That didn’t dissolve well and I can’t tell the paint apart based on color and names
Last in my book a field guide to Color they had me take one primary color and mix it with multiple other colors to create different shades of the same color without losing it identity. I chose Carmine. Adding 50% blue or green immediately turned to purple. So I needed to add only 10 or 20% in order to create a reddish color.
Mixing the color was fun, but need me. The colors was really hard. The stretch of creativity is to take each of your colors and give it a new fun name. Instead, I wrote down the colors that I mixed with. In black ink. Then I try to make up some colors by searching on the Internet. And once I got to hang up it, I did it for the last five. My brain feels so rigid that it was unable to pivot from Color making two variety of English names for fun. Phew. Can you believe that was the hardest part?Jul 28, 2026
