World creation:
1. look up how societies form + markers of complex civilization and fill in how your fictional society/societies would answer those categories. If you don't want to go searching through the internet for that, feel free to dm me and I'll send a bunch if notes over.
2. Create a vague (or not so vague) history for your world. Here are a few suggestions of questions to answer: how did the society get started? Why does society A and society B hate each other? How would this society use the natural resources it has? Has the nation had revolutions or not? Why does society A like [insert food] so much?
3. Consider how #1 and #2 would interact with each other. For example: if society A has a bunch of wheat and society B does not, what would each society do? Why would they do that?

Map creation: you could use the dice method @ariki_artxotherworld suggested; or just draw a bunch of lines and shapes on a piece of paper and then make vague continents/landmasses from how the lines intersect. From there, just define it more with shaky lines for coasts. I suggest doing map creation before you gotten too deep into how your society works, since it helps with placing where/why different things happen.

I hope this monolith of text helps in any way!!
There's a bunch of fantasy map generators online and in the app store! You can roll for random and start tweaking from there
Uhhhhh, I think, for creating a world, I recommend first deciding the periods, ancient age, medieval age, medium age... (Or a fantasy or futuristic world too)
And then create the place the action happens, if you want a town or a big city (You can get inspired in real places if you want to)
Take a big paper, some dice or little stones and sticks and let it all fall on the big paper, and then make lines so that they all of the objects are in the shape you are drawing

It should make some sort of rough random shape, that you can then detail to make more believable shores and coast, and peninsulas and islands around and such

The hazards is you friend here, and you can start over as many time as you like until the objects fall in a shape you like
