Rya grew since the last time she saw Ked, not just in height but in stature, and personality. Ked has aged as well, and somehow they still see each other. Rya sees the father they thought they'd lost, and Ked sees the one he cared for like a child, but grown up and adult. Both of have missing hands, Rya, her left, and Ked, his right.
