Hug The Penguin - 20250904
I just did another digital art piece once again, and this time it’s one of my baby steps in learning kidlit style art. I decided to join in for Kidlit Postcard Art Day, which happens every first Thursday of the month, so I thought it was a nice chance to practise and share.For this piece, I drew a little girl hugging a penguin. The girl is smiling with her eyes closed, holding tight with joy, and the penguin is on a small wooden stool, looking bright and cheerful with its shiny blue eyes. The penguin, of course, is Puff Puff—an influencer penguin who is known for spreading kind and uplifting affirmations.
The timing of this artwork feels very fitting, because it’s September—Suicide Prevention Month. A few years ago, Puff Puff actually became a mascot for this cause, and that makes me feel glad that I drew him now. Its cheerful and encouraging nature matches perfectly with the message of hope and support.
As for the artwork itself, I think it turned out fine, though I know there are still things I need to improve. Since I’m only taking baby steps in this kidlit art style, I see details I could make softer or cleaner next time, but that’s all part of the learning. For now, I’m happy to have finished this piece and to keep moving forward little by little.Sep 4, 2025
