Season 4 nine realms messy spilling of thoughts and rants. Im still watching this show from sheer curiosity. Hoo boy.
Theres so many jumps in logic, like, in one episode the villain, the new, extremely pathetic villain, is in the dragon realm....and can somehow, make cages out of ice? They never explain it, but hes making cages....for dragons....out of ice. Whatever, maybe its special ice that can't be melted or broken...EXCEPT AT THE START OF THE VERY NEXT EPISODE THUNDER BREAKS ONE. HHHHHHHHH. And then theres another where the villain is tied to a dragon, and the main character sends the dragon off with the villain attached and then goes "oh we didn't catch him" WHY DID YOU SEND HIM AWAY IF YOU DIND'T WANT HIM LEAVING. Ok one more one more. They establish that the dragons cannot fly them up a mountain due to high winds, and at some point they pass out, to find their dragons carried them up higher to safety....WHERE DID THE WIND GO?!
All of that was pretty hilarious though. There was actually an episode I liked too! Forgot its number but basically two of the dragons get seprated and have to work together. And one of the best new characters is my least favorite characters brother. Jun is HORRIBLE. She just 'the mystic one' and shoves myth down peoples throats, but she so smug about it. Its no overestimation to say I HATE HER. But her brother Eugene, I think they want him to be the Snotlout substitute, but hes honestly been one of the shining highlights. A crafty arrogant consman who actually uses his skills to help, ironically paired with the nicest sweetest dragon. In one scene it was even cradling him, just bonus background details to add more personality.
Alex also still great. As usual.
Oh! And theres more nightlight designs.
People say "they had to be inbred' since there was only one nightfury, but c'mon, dominant genes exist, they could all just be nightlight lightfury mixes with black being the dominate gene until it was widespread enough for all of them to be nightlights.......But....yeah the proportions on all but one of the new guys look pretty ugly. To top that off, there was a recent nine realms game with the same dragons, WHO HAVE DIFFERENT DESIGNS. The exact same characters, completely inconsistent!
I love the idea of the monochromatic furys being the future of furys but, I like it better when the fans do the designs instead of looking like spilled paint.
And in the final episode, oh boy, does it feel absolutely spiteful to the movies. Tom strait up, I kid you not, feeds HICCUPS LEG TO A SNOWRAITH.
IM SERIOUS. There had to be some spite there right? Did they not realize? How did they? UHHh. Thats not even all the messing with Hiccups stuff they do. Its looking, pretty disrespectful if they go where I think they are going.
Now theres a season 5 promo and, it just makes myself a little miffed that your nice, intelligent mother who has been worried sick about you will ruin your whole world if she dare finds out what you are hiding. Hhh
Season four was the absolute worst yet. But. You know. Im still gonna watch. Morbid curiosity and all that.Feb 21, 2023
