How serious do you take your art ?

More questions while I procrastinate on my drawing

-So how serious do you take your art? Is it a hobby for fun or for self expression?
Maybe you take it more seriously and want to use it for your career?
I take mine as just hobby but would like to improve on it a lot

I'm thinking of pursuing it as a career in the future so I guess i can be a bit too serious with my quality of work at times ^^;;

β’I want it to be my full-time career & lifelong passion, I hope I never stop
β’
β’0 seriousness, I just feel the compelling urge to draw
I do it because it allows me to vent, and because I need art to visualise the characters I write. I don't even care about getting better (even if it obviously happens anyway, at least a bit, thanks to practice)

β’I'm kinda hoping for it to become a career one day, or at least a hobby that I can earn from :)
β’
β’Depends, the stuff I do for myself is more for fun but the things for art school are more serious
β’
β’A hobby, but still pretty serious I guess. I'm really focused on improving and likes (which might not be the best). Maybe I'll make money in the future with commissions or a patreon, but for that to happen I have to get people to like my art. It won't be my main income though, I don't want to start hating drawing at some point because I do it as a job and not as a hobby anymore.
β’
β’Just a hobby and way to relax.
I donβt wan to make commissions or sell anything and I like to keep it that way. More freedom to me~ even getting better is not my first target but it happens sometimes.
So I'm not that serious. :> (and yay another hobby artist
)

β’I treat is as my hobby, but I still want to use it for my career. Tbh school is such a burnout so I guess I don't get to draw a lot and improve
β’
β’I dont try to take it overly seriously, its bad for my mental health when I do. I make art since I would like to be able to share my stories and idea and I think through art/comics/animations is a fun way to do that.
Also GL on your drawing!!

β’Not too seriously, it's a hobby for me, but I would like to improve so I could start doing commissions and not feel anxious about the client not liking my art or something... And I would like to do some stickers for myself (Β΄Ο`)
β’
β’Self expression prob, art for me is like a win win
I get to have money
and i get to express myself
So i don't really take it seriously

β’I take my art pretty seriously. I'm hoping to eventually make a career out of it. Ideally, I would be able to make a living from my OCs/stories (I want to make illustrated novels or webcomics and sell merch related to them). I don't see that happening soon, so it would be nice if I could work as a character designer or concept artist for a company while I'm building up an audience for my own brand.
β’
β’hmmm, actually i just draw bcos ppl says i'm good at drawing, but sometimes it's fun!
i take it more like a hobby i guess

β’I take mine seriously and would love for it to be more than a side job (I do small illustrations for clients through my job, but it's never been just for my artwork, if that makes sense. Just trying to be vague since it's the internet lol). I would love to make a comic one day, or do actual commission work/sell my art at a rate to where I could support myself
β’
β’I made the stupid decision of taking AP Digital Arts this year and my teacher is literally telling us that we have no time to put together a 15 piece portfolio, before May. This requires me to do at least 1 artwork per weekβ which is driving me crazy because I like to procrastinate
In short, Iβm rather forced to take my art VERY seriously

β’I take it more on the serious side with making my OC. Maybe someday I could go on and make an animated show.
