You’re stunting your art growth doing this. You shouldn’t take commissions if you can’t draw them dead serious. You’re less likely to get commissions too.May 11, 2023

Im just scared to offend people because im new to drawing diversity, so I haven't uploaded any of my more diverse drawings here in fear that someone will be offended

•I agree! I wanted to learn how to draw fat bodies and age-related sking folds, and I found almost no resources for artists! I searched in English, Italian, and French, and I only found one tutorial and one panoramic of some drawings of old bodies. I resolved to look up for medical information and analyses for fat, and plastic surgery before/after pictures for age. As soon as I learnt a few basic elements, I directly made two tutorials about these topics (in Italian). They are not perfect because I myself still need to study them more and practice and see a lot more references. But I wanted to share directly the minimal knowledge I struggled so much to find, hoping to make it a bit more avaiable.

I don’t know where to start on body size so I stay the same. I think I do alright with diversity I’m always love to learn more. I try my best and continue to keep learning kinda

I wholeheartedly agree. That's why I'm redesigning some o' my OCs, to give them some more SPICE!

I agree . I'm not really good at certain things because the media that I saw growing up was only skinny white people. I generally start all my drawings with stick figures and keep most proportions like that because I'm not good with posing to begin with so it's easiest when I'm pretty much still just posing a stick figure, but I am trying to gather advice and references for other skin tones and body shapes for when I do start making the refs for my characters that those features apply to . I'm always kinda scared to take trades or comms of characters with features I haven't practiced yet bc I might not be good at it since I haven't drawn it before but I will still always at least try . Straight refusing to draw different skin colors or body shapes gives a bad feeling and to be honest just makes someone's art bland to look at. if you draw every character pretty much the same, why would I want to bother following for "new content" when it's all really just the same thing? having more diversity makes things more interesting and makes your characters more unique and potentially more recognizable as different OCs (like by silhouette I mean? I've always heard people say if you can tell a character apart by silhouette that's good )

I’ll admit I’m still trying to learn how to draw and diversify my art in ways but at I’m trying. Flat out refusing to draw them is terrible. I think everyone should learn at least.
