This is less of a question and more of a discussion post about AI ‘artists’. (not a rant dw)
I personally think that if people stop reacting to AI artists and indulging them by arguing, then they’ll die out. I see it like crypto bros, they’ll get bored once nobody is interested in interacting with them anymore. The crypto market is pretty much in shambles now lol and I haven’t seen anyone talking about NFTs in a long time.
I think it’s frustrating that they see themselves in artists, but i don’t give them any sort of interaction i just scroll, cause i know they’re not
You can’t reason with idiots. Their work is rubbish as you can always (always) tell it’s AI generated, they’re not protected under copyright, and nobody who was going to pay artists for work in the first place is going to stop hiring them for that garbage, ESPECIALLY as it’s not protected under copyright. Plus, the general reaction is it looks tacky, such as the cheaply made music videos using it- it just gives a cheap and unprofessional look to the work and the reaction is generally ‘it looks shit’.
There’s no real benefit to that for companies. Ultimately, I think it’s going to end up as another tool for real artists, to test composition ideas and to give lighting ideas etc, rather than being used to replace real art. The hype will die down and everyone will forget about it once they realise people are bored of seeing the same anime girl every day and they can’t make money off it anymore.

i always block their accounts if i encounter them. they don’t deserve my respect or attention. may god bring them some kind of reality check. i’m not the type of person to gatekeep things, but at some point we have to. the talentless who don’t want to put any effort into anything are corrupting art.

Idk abt what will happen to ai concerning the art side of it but I do know that AI is very prominent in being used to generate illegal things rn. So that side of it is nvr going to die now that ppl know how to use it for that and distribute it bc it technically isn't illegal due to it not being real ppl even though the subject matter itself is illegal.

I joined a reddit community of people who live in my city and there's one guy who uses AI very consistently and posts it in the art channels and I just can't help it but get the vibe that he's pretty unintelligent. He has done nothing to make me judge him like that but idk I just get this gut feeling from AI art posts like dang this person really doesn't have anything going on in their head, how is this a walking adult? I can't say this anywhere but here

You're totally right! I also don't interact with them. But it's really irritating when you see one defending oneself like it's worthy. I have that friend who literally told me "it's good because we can catch up to you artists, and I think none can stop that, it's a revolution" even though I explained him it's stealing people's hardwork.

•I hope you are right about the AI art hype dying out. I think that laws limiting it and protecting art workers and artists will help pushing in that direction
