Oriel, martyr of thunder
Unlike the other characters I've been posting recently, who had a detailed biography explaining their origins, everything is a mystery with Oriel.For those stoping by on my work by first time, this character belongs in the universe of my webcomic Espero. In this story, there is a goddess called Hmana who created the kingdom where the story takes place. She has by her side five angels who help her on her divine duties and Oriel is one of them. Each angel used to be a human who sacrificed themselves for a good cause (which is why they are also called martyrs) and all of them had a story known by everyone explaining how they joined this goddess, except for this one.
For centuries the goddess only had four angels by her side, until one sudden day a fifth mysterious angel appeared. The few things known about him are his name and that he can control thunder. How he came to be by her side, how he died or what he sacrificed himself for are all questions that have been unanswered. Some humans have the rumor he, unlike the other angels who died in the hands of monsters or people, he died in the hands of a demon, which make him take the demonic powers of said creature. That's a rumor though.Feb 26, 2023
