I mostly use PixelStudio on my phone, it's fantastic
When I had a laptop it was ClipStudio, Aseprite, and Pyxel Edit

•I use Clip studio, set my canvas to 500 x 500 and low dpi. I have a marker brush set to 1 pixel and then work with it :)

Aeseprite's an excellent choice for PC and the program I make 99% of my pixel art and animations in. I think I've used a program called Pixel Studio on my Chromebook before as well. Not certain of it's available on Apple devices though because I only use Android.

I've used a program called pyxeledit for pixel art in the past, it's a bit cheaper than aseprite and works like a charm. It's good for animations, tiles, and still illustrations, and I've had fun using it.
