I've never been a Shakespeare fan to be honest, but I love this line. So I was thinking about art in all it's forms, and how we put a lot of stock behind names, famous authors, poets, film makers, illustrators and the like.
But what's in a name? Just something to know who did what; something to build an expectation of future work I guess.
It's kind of odd, I wonder what it'd be like if no one's names were attached to their work, if Tolkien's name was never known yet Lord of the Rings was still as beloved as it was, if Stephen King's name was not ingrained into 'IT'. How would that change the world of art? What would we use instead of a name to see if we wanted to see something in a given space?Jun 11, 2023
