@blasphemytales's post on Artfol
Probably a useless question because I can already guess all the answers.
My Instagram account, which I once loved, died.
I don't know if I should make a new one, abandon the platform, or persevere in my dead account.
What other platform could I try beside IG?
Yes I'm on artfol, I'll keep posting here, but this account is even more lifeless than the Instagram one... Only question text posts sometimes gain interactions
(I actually already have Twitter, but it's completely dead)Oct 16, 2022

I personally use my Instagram to mainly just reshare other people’s art & save posts for reference/inspiration. So unless you’d like to do something similar, I’d say abandon Instagram; Meta doesn’t need to keep tabs on your information anyways.
The only other platform I have experience with is Tumblr; it’s a lot like here (no algorithm, customizable profiles) but fanart is way more likely to get noticed than oc art. I still find it a lot of fun & recommend using the desktop version of the app version. Tumblr is currently chaotic good, at least my side of Tumblr is that way! You gotta block all bots though, they can somehow hack your account if you don’t.

•I always recommend DeviantArt since it's made for artists. Once you learn how the site works and how to get your art seen (tagging, groups, etc) it's the most reliable place to post art in my opinion. It doesn't push you to post video content, it doesn't shadowban you or hide your posts from your followers, it doesn't censor you from using links or words like "commission", etc.
The site is not dead despite what some people say, I get regular engagement there and sell most of my commissions on DeviantArt.
