Interesting conversations I had with artists today.
They: - I don't like sharing my work to other artists
Me: - Why?
Them: -Because I offer them something they already have, I see no point in that. Is like sharing bread to a baker.
Then other conversation in a WhatsApp group.
A girl: -at time is frustrating to share art to other artists.
Others: -why you say so?
Her: -because artists are selfish. They all want to be seen and supported, but almost none of them are interested in supporting other artists. None of the people who support my art are artists.

What a broken world we live in.
Artfol gives me hope and happiness every night. I see established artist, I see ones younger then me and I love them all the same. Art is there to be shared. Social media destroyed that. The whole numbers game makes me sick.
How sad that some think their art isn't worth to be shared.

Personally, I don't do art to get famous. It's just an extra stress for me to care about who loves my work and who doesn't.
To say artists are selfish because they don't share your work sounds very entitled of them honestly. But I get that there really are artists out there whose goals are to be famous and it must suck if they don't get the support.
For me, it's just not part of my goals. I make art for me. I share it for fun and curiosity to see how other people like it but don't mind if nobody does. I don't plan on making art my main money maker so it's not really a problem for me to draw without anyone noticing me. I mean I'm grateful for the support but I think support shouldn't be forced. If they don't want to support me that's totally okay with me. I don't consider it selfish if other people don't share my work. It's totally fine.

true, in the artist community there are both supportive and selfish people, but i always had the feeling that a lot of artist just stopped being supportive towards the others because of bad experiences they previously had.

Well, sharing your special bread recipe to a baker is not stupid. It's not like you showed them their own work, it's always different.

I think I've only met one person in my life who was not supportive of other people's art and instead concentrated on talking about how it could just be better and stuff, not showing any interest in what was already there. Every other artist I've shown my work to I've met online and they were all very sweet and told me a lot about what they like in my techniques and style. I myself learned to recognize how important it is to show support, because if nobody showed it, nobody would receive any, and i bet there's actually a ton of people who do the same for the same reasons. Also i guess some people are self-centred and act like other's art is not interesting, but isn't it kind of a huge point among people of craft, to discuss that craft? Different techniques, each other's works. People who treat their own work seriously know how to admire others and that it's very important.
Imo, if that's the experience they've had so far with artists, they've met the wrong people. It's very sad, where i live it's similar bc the attitude towards art is very old-fashioned and nobody is ever taught to share support. At least they have someone else to support them, that's good

But i think people dont support beginers cuz they think its not "good enough" ( which is false there is no such thing as bad art) and dont support professional artists because they are eather jelous or think they dont need more support
As for shareing art, i used to hate shareing mine since i only make it for myself not the public but then i uploaded it here and some people appreciated it and made them happy so i changed my mind and now i like shareing some stuff

I don't think all artists are selfish and not all artists are indifferent to other artists. So far, most of artists I personally met are supportive and kind and eager to see art. Myself for example I love watching other people's stuff and if I can support them, I will
