This isn't an art related question, but Artfol has been such a supporting community so I'm asking here πŸ‘‰πŸ‘ˆ

What do you eat when you don't have appetite?

I'm struggling with it right now, I get hungry and weak but I don't feel good eating anything... It's either a lasting symptom of an influenza, or it's because of stress ://

I have to eat more because I have to go to uni every day, but I also don't want to feel weird/nauseous all the time 😩

So do you have any suggestion? I'd be very grateful for any advice πŸ₯Ί

My comfort food are noodles, when I'm hungry but don't really want to eat they always work. Try to find a food that works for you, probably something quick to cook so you can get it over quickly. I hope you find something that works for you πŸ’œ

I do fruit and veggies + rice, and then something protein (miso soup, beef Jerky, protein bars). If I have time + materials I'll do a smoothie because it's easy to make nutritious but it doesn't take a lot of mental energy to make/eat.

I throw gross tasteless pasta in here... or a piece of bread. It's bad probably, dunno, but I need to eat anyway

I would recommend a bouillon soup. It is salty and healthy. Sure, it isnβ€˜t a solution for long time but if you feel sick and weak it can give you energy and fill your belly for some time. Hope your appetite comes back soon and take care of yourself please! <3

I drink water or i drink something soup! Or Chinese porridge
β€’
β€’
Cereal - but like the expensive one with oats and fruits and stuff. Add some yoghurt, some fresh berries and honey and it’s a light meal

Generally light food.
Toast with cream fraiche/schmand and cucumbers or something else light works well for me from time to time.
Making spring rolls is also nice since concentration goes to slowly making them and the dip while eating. Plus they are with a good amount of noodles inside more filling than they seem.

But all in all I try to get food I can fiddle stowing and take my time eating while doing other stuff. Like ripping little chunks of store bought panettone and munching that. As well as always having cookies or such around. Dry stuff that I don’t have to worry about going bad but always have within arms reach to eat whenever.

Something that can be nibbled. Chips, crackers, even something like granola or trail mixes.

If you're drinking well, you can always have a protein or meal replacement shake. Or a light broth - like miso, or ramen/ other noodle soups. Even if all you do is drink the broth, it might help.
If you're feeling weak, I also suggest something sugary. It's the quickest way to get energy. My mum used to give me loads of biscuits when I was sick as a kid, specifically Nice biscuits (which are coated in sugar). To americanise it, I mean cookies not American scone-like biscuits. It needs to be light, and not too big, so you can just munch on them in as big a quantity you can manage. You could also eat sugary cereal straight from the bag.

Original flavor Goldfish. It's like eating crackers, but in small, easy bites (less crumbly too!)

Fried rice... Gets the job done for me but it's different for everyone

And also, if this gets bad, see a doctor
β€’

Hey. I’m not a doctor but I will tell you what works for me in this cases πŸ™‚Hope this helps. Whenever Iβ€˜m sick or my stomach is acting up I usually eat foods that are stomach-friendly like pretzel sticks (the lye helps with stomach flu for example), white bread, cooked carrots, joghurt (the probiotics are good for your stomach lining), lean meat, zucchini, broccoli, white rice and lean fish. It’s trial and error tho. You will figure it out. Absolutely talk to your doctor if the symptoms donβ€˜t go away soonπŸ‘πŸ»

I'd usually drink soup or something that doesn't require much work to eat

My time has come

I struggle with nausea and heartburn a lot due to a stomach disorder.

Bread/toast , crackers, rice cakes, anything bready will help a lot with nausea.
