What are your favourite character design features?
I personally adore characters with high contrast palettes
Especially when a character has dark skin/ base, then have a pop of bright colours for the accents

Here’s some of my fav that I considered peak design:
- Face not fully visible because the hair covers their eyes, only saw eyes when character is mad/serious (my OCs Isla and Abel share this trait).
- Face is a pure black void, only visible eye(s) or mouth (my OC Hatty).
- Oversized sleeves, so long that they fully or almost hide the character’s hands. (I’m planning to do this with my sona, because I tend to hide my hands IRL even with regular sleeves).

Oh but something more specific. I LOVE talons. Not long nails, specifically talons. In character design this usually looks like the entire finger becomes a claw at the end. Long nails tend to look like they'd break easily, or have too much of a witchy vibe to work with certain bestial characters. Bigass talons though, love that shit.

I loveeee characters with any sort of space/cosmic motif and I also like characters with a bunch of wings

Sharp fingers/claws, tall and slim characters, and small eyes. Love the misterious and danger aura it provides
•
Curly hair. I like curls in real life too. I like that not only the can have different cuts, but also there are lots of different types of curls and styles for them. So I like when some of this variety is used in character design. And noses that are quite big or with a bump on women.

High contrast character designs are just the best, I just love how much you can do with them! Characters with hats/ any interesting shape on their head are really cool too, bonus if the hat is comicaly huge
•
Ooo dark skin w/ dark hair combo, elf ears, freckles, long hair, fun wonky noses, anything to add magical vibes
(oop so basically my dnd oc lol)

Fangs ehehehhee horns, fun ears (like animal ears or elf ears), tails of any sort, yessszs

Fingerless gloves, messy LONG hair and when characters have one piece of their hair in front of their face. Also a colorful hair streak and those shirts that are tilted so one shoulder's visible whilst the other isn't!! Plus headphones! :D

Love a purple, green and white colour palette, it’s just the right combo of everything for me
