ig 5 among all them dead languages. so i can resurrect them by teaching them to other people
•
•Dutch, Chinese (Mandarin), and Korean for family reasons and then probably either Farsi or Hindi bc the poetry is just so so good and I want to be able to appreciate all the details as the author intended.
•
Arabic for religious reasons
Japanese cuz i looove
French cuz it could be useful
Korean cuz i love that too
And Ebira (my native language) so that everyone would LEAVE ME ALONE ABOUT IT ALREADY
Or hindi

•Japanese to impress weebs and know what the Japanese are talking about on different websites and in real life, Chinese to impress everyone, French so if I go to France I know what people are saying there, German so me and my friend (if she ends up wanting to learn) can go to the mall and confuse everyone, and Russian because it sounds nice.
•
- Italian because I refused to learn it when I was little (sorry mom) and now when I go to Italy i'm lost
- Dutch because I spent 10years to learn it and I forgot everything
- Spanish and English, studied it too but i would have liked to be more fluent and less complexed with my accent
- Danish because why not

Spanish bc I think it'd help a lot where I live, french because I was already learning that in highschool, sign language because again I think it'd be useful, japanese, and dutch just because it's so silly lookin
•
Greek: my family language that i suck at. Then it would be Mandarin: ive always wanted to learn it as i like the fact its tonal and so many speakers exist for it. Spanish would be next because its a pretty language and also has a ton of speakers. Then french because it would allow speaking with most of Africa and also i thing its the most attractive sounding language. Finally it would be Japanese: i would bee able to watch and read Japanese media without subtitles and i also think that the three writing systems is crazy cool
•
- Sign language (in my case, VSL): I always feel like the world is forgetting about those who can't speak/hear so i want to help them, even just a little.
- Korean: I got inspired by watching a lot of Korean Englishman videos
- German: Again, i got inspired by a friend who studied in Germany.
- French: It sounds cool and fancy, i also like French music
- Russian: There're a lot of Russian tourists come to my city so it's a useful language to know.
I'll cheat a little and add Japanese because i like anime.

- Portuguese (my bf's family only speaks Portuguese).
- German (I like that language and that country is right next to mine)
- French (another country next to mine also speaks French)
- Japanese (seems like another useful language to know, especially since I almost never remember names from characters from a manga/anime)
- Italian (I just like Italian food and didn't know what other language to choose)

The ones that are on my list next: Spanish, Modern Greek, Chinese, Russian, Arab. And then I would continue learning more languages by myself.
•
- some type of sign language,
- Spanish (could be helpful its like one of the most common languages)
- Latin (i find it very cool)
- Greek (also very cool)
- russain (could be helpful bc theres a lot of russian people in my country and also ukranians due to the war)

-japanese: I just find it very interesting
-chinese: the japanese language uses chinese kanjis as well so I guess it would be helpful
-ukrainian: due to the war a lot of ukrainian people escaped to my country and there are a lot of them in my workplace. I actually considered trying to learn some of it so I can at least try to talk to them if there's anything that requires me to work with them
-german: I have german relatives and I literally can't even talk to them so when they visit on rare occasions it's so awkward for me
-spanish: idk, I think it sounds neat

Russian
Hindi
Hebrew
Estonian
Swedish or French
For French, it’s conflicting because I am at a B1-2 proficiency, but if I could instantly become 100% it would take away my imposter syndrome yk.
As for Russian, I like a lot of Russian music and media + I’ve been trying on and off to learn it anyways
Hindi just because it sounds nice
Hebrew because I like the idea of reading a non-translated version of the bible (or atleast parts of it, I know not all of it was originally Hebrew)
Estonian & Swedish because of ancestry

•American Sign Language
Spanish
Irish
Japanese
Old English
The first two because they’re both in the top 3 languages used in the U.S. so they’d actually be quite useful for where I live!
Irish & Japanese because I would like to visit those places, & it’d probably be useful to know the language of the places you’d like to go to!
And old English (not actually sure what it’s properly called) because it’s so interesting what aspects of it are still around & what isn’t. Would totally be good for DEEP roleplaying for D&D or something, lol!

Spanish, Japanese, French, Chinese and maybe one of the African languages. I love languages so much!
•
Nahuatl, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Irish Gaelic, and French
Nahuatl and Gaelic are for heritage reasons and Japanese, French and Chinese are to make travel easier.

German - I love the language and I've learnt a bit but I'm quite lazy so I'm pretty sure I'll never learn it
Finnish - I'd love to be able to know it but I've heard that it's quite hard to learn
Italian - just for the sake of knowing Italian lol
Norwegian - I'd love to go there one day
I just saw someone say Latin so I'm gonna say that as well cause that would be cool!

Mandarin - I would love to be fluent so I can go to Chinatowns and restaurants since Chinese people are everywhere in my city and they speak Mandarin. Vietnamese - it's my parents' language but my pronunciation is always off and has been cause for intense ridicule. French - only because I live in Canada...I hated French when I had to take it in school. Spanish - there are so many variations so if I get one down, the others would come quickly and perhaps other romance languages will be easier to catch on. Lastly, Latin - I've been self-teaching using online sources and taking courses offered by my uni. I just think it's neat
•
•Chinese - I'm level 2 right now and my mom is Chinese and I feel awful for not knowing the language. Been studying for a few months now.
Thai - boyfriend wants to move to Thailand one day, which I'm not sure I totally am on board with yet, but I figure I should be proactive and learn the language just in case. Only thing is that I'm not going to study harder than him and he has only just begun so I'm not rushing into it for now
ASL - it is enriching
Spanish - most of my friends are Hispanic
And for the last one I'm not sure

Hebrew, Yiddish, Italian, sign language, and Russian
The why respectively is:
Talking to family, would be fun to know, my fav book and movie are both in Italian and there's a show I want to watch in Italian, I could talk without making noise or having to hear someone, last one was a toss up between Russian and French but both have a lot of literature that I want to read so I arbitrarily chose Russian
