growing up being told I was artistic while having a perfectionistic personality was more damaging than encouraging, I think. I almost always feel discouraged after making art bc it doesn’t live up to my standards, when all art should be celebrated. it also made me focus more on the outcome than the process, which strips away a lot of the value of art as an activity.Mar 4, 2022
