teenage girl
The song Teenage Girl by Cherry Glazerr instantly made me think of teen Pines so I doodled this :3 they are probably 13 or 14 here, the vibe of the song is just right for her if that makes sense I haven't really sat and explored it throughly yet but I feel like Pines (any pronouns) had a very unique relationship with girlhood, he is amab but never really experienced life as a guy because of how their parents raised them, she always felt disconnected with being a boy and their dads Adam and Basil never forced anything onto her letting them have whatever clothes and toys and not forcing them to cut his hair or anything, just letting him expresses herself how she wanted. Because of their more feminine personality they never really hung out with guys and were kinda shunned by them so she only really had girl friends throughout grade school, he got to have a lot of the girlhood experiences but with some distance too because they weren't a girl either. Because it was the early 2000's they were bullied pretty bad in middle and high school because of their gender expression and being a big nerd with his big books about monsters and cults, and Icarus was also pretty mean but they could always feel safe with their dads or the tiny group of nerdy girls who were her friend group. Idk, their childhood isn't super important for the main plot but I love fleshing it out anyways
