Can someone fill me in on what’s going on with DeviantArt?? I haven’t posted art there since like 2011 so I’m very out of the loop

DeviantArt made an announcement yesterday with some site updates. The first is that they made their own AI generator (that doesn't train itself on users' art). The second is that they added an option to mark your account as anti-AI so OTHER third party AI sites don't use your art either. (It's important to note that third party AI sites are ALREADY stealing from any site that hosts images, and had been for a long time. DeviantArt hasn't suddenly given anyone a new license to steal).
The option to opt-out was initially set to opt-IN by default, and required you to mark every upload individually. People got mad, so this was changed and now you can opt-out your entire account at once, PLUS accounts are now set to anti-AI automatically.
But people panicked and mistook this as DeviantArt trying to force AI and steal art from their users, which isn't the case. Lots of misinformation going around thanks to DeviantArt's shitty marketing team.
