Is there a way/ a specific method that you all use to keep anatomy in your drawings looking symmetrical? Whenever I try to draw something that requires symmetry (a forward facing profile for example), I can never end up getting both sides of the face looking uniform, and I end up with a janky character. Any helpful advice regarding this is greatly appreciated!Oct 4, 2022

Flipping the canvas helps, but to be honest people aren't actually symmetrical and symmetrical drawings usually look uncanny because of that. That's why I suggest using symmetry rules in art programs only sparingly. It is honestly better to be comfortable with slight asymmetry.

Flipping the canvas a lot and working on both flipped versions
A lot of gesture drawing and anatomy practice also helps

•I generally have a copy of the canvas I'm working on but it's flipped to see if everything it proportional. Same with traditional but i use a mirror in that case.
