Same here! It can be intimidating or very inspiring! Depends on the mood. I guess.

โขI know this feeling from MMORPGs.
I try to ask what the artist is going for with their art, and is the direction even something I'd be interested in exploring myself. I might save it in "art envy" folder or think, "hey, that's cool".
I've chosen certain stats and skills for a reason - to make playing fun for me.
I won't ever be everyone and specializing is part of the fun.
Kids draw some of the most amazing wild exaggerated things out there! The fantasy is there, the emotion is there, the adventure is there.
When someone's making art that's close to my interests and the subject matter is cool and style is strong and clearly more advanced in some or most or every way, it can feel x y or z.
I guess art envy folder exists so I can save the drawing and return to it if it feels important later. Most of the time, almost always, it doesn't.

Creating art for yourself is all about the journey though. Moreso than the product at times. So itโs a bit of a humbling bumbling moment knowing your creative adventure is far from over.
