It really upsets me how Sonic X was ruined by 4kids during its prime.
Apparently the Japanese dubbing is much better than it’s English counterpart. Sure I’ve grown up to acknowledge and enjoy the English version of the series, but having known of the Japanese dub, I wish that 4kids wasn’t in control of the series.
The original dubbing was much darker along with its scenes, plus having some Tails and Cosmo scenes cut out of the English dub, including deaths too.
Other kid shows weren’t afraid to teach us about deaths (looking back at Sesame Street and other shows) but of course 4kids had to hide away the death and dark scenes of Sonic X, but weren’t afraid to leave a couple in. (I’d say them but they’d be spoilers ^^”)
I hope someday to experience the full Japanese dubbing of Sonic X. It’s a series I’ve bound to love, and potentially my first anime show I’ve watched ever next to Pokemon.
And tbh I probably sound like a maniac talking about Sonic X as not a lot of people have experienced it growing up as I did pft

Dunno if you've seen the cutscenes on the older 3D Sonic games, but the original Japanese of SA2 and—dare I say it, '06—delivered the story better, if you're considering on diving into the Japanese dub of the Sonic franchise.
