@nicefroggo's post on Artfol

I'm in a weird phase where I really do not like my art...I think I need to experiment with a bit thinner lines so I can get more detail in...also I need to use a more tapered brush more too...

I'm open to advice.

thank you for all your input everyone! I really appreciate it💕 I'm going to push myself to add more detail to my work and use a smaller brush.
You're at that phase wear your art doesn't meet your tastes and expectations, that's normal =^=

And yes, train, experiment, have fun with your art
If you train and gain skills efficiently, it might last shorter because you skills will be close enough to your taste ^^
im on that phase too +_+ what usually helps me is trying new things, such as style but specially brushes, maybe some new lineart
and give breaks too, it helps your mental health
Not liking your art isn't weird! It can suck but it's a pretty normal part of being an artist and improving your art, it's fine as long as you are working to change it! My advice would be to practice and experiment a lot. I am going through the same thing tbh. So, one of my big goals for next year is to really focus on improving my art and developing my style, do what I need to do to get me to a point where I am happier with the work I'm creating.
If you wanna experiment, try using white lineart as opposed to black lineart. Really changes the mood.
I think your art is really cute! You could try imitating traditional media and blending some realism into your work? If you enjoy it, that could bring some fresh elements to work with 😁
