A lot of this genre seems to have abuse, loose consent, and cp and that makes it more disgusting. Fujoshi’s are pretty shitty too. They fetishize gay men and I hate them for that.

I had to stop halfway trhough because it was too uncomfortable to read

I like gay content but it's when the term "yaoi" is used that makes me cringe, almost everything labeled as such is horribly written and abusive. If they get better through character development that's one thing, I enjoy a good story with the characters learning from their mistakes and becoming better people. But jfc 99% of it is just "I know you constantly abuse me and you're never going to realize why that's bad, but that ass tho."

Big ol facts right here. I just can't get into those sorts of MLM anime because among other reasons, they always fetishize sensitive content to the point where it's treated as something normal. Banana Fish, a MLM anime that I legitimately really enjoy, may also have (off-screen) sensitive content, but it's always treated as something abhorrent instead of fetishized for the pleasure of fujos.
