Tree FungiInitially I was going to submit a landscape but it's been over a year and a half since I've taken one so have a photo of some fungi on a tree from the backyard of my parent's house instead!
During my childhood I didn't really have a place to just be alone except for this tree since I was the only one in my family who could climb it (looking back, I climbed a lot of different trees and I've fallen and gotten the breath knocked out of me quite a few times but somehow haven't sprained or broken anything), so I spent a lot of time up in it reading, contemplating about my future, thinking through identity crises, and watching the sun sink lower as it streaked the sky with pink and orange hues. You can hear my neighbor's windchimes while resting in its shade, and during the spring and summer when it has all its leaves it practically envelops you in a room closed off to the world where you can only see the sky and the occasional bird or squirrel that seeks refuge in its branches. To this day, the sight of leaves dappled with sunlight is one of my favoritesApr 19, 2021
