@artifexligula's post on Artfol
Am I the only one who thinks Artfol's algorithm is getting worse? I mean ofc artists are getting traction since it is an artist only app, but compared to when I first started using it people haven't been interacting that much to text posts and small creator's "picture posts" aren't getting that much love in the explore page either. It's sort of favoring the big name artists again in my opinion? ://

Honestly I think sometimes it just happens as people follow more people and then the feed gets a lot to look through. On one hand I like reshares, but sometimes my feed can get uh- a bit bogged down by them as well? But honestly I rather have em than not have em since resharing art is def like a super good thing for the community C:
Other than that I can’t really speak too much on interaction lol since I’ve sucked at posting lately, but my text posts still get plenty of interaction! C:

•Yeah but it's also beacuse there are more people on the app and since everything is in chronological order picture posts just slide trough without any attention

•Ive got to say i really preffered it when they had all the 'trending, recent, traditional, digital, other' Tabs, it was much easier to look through all the Art, and I think a lot of smaller artists could be presented better that way. Of course you can look through Tags, but those are a bit more hidden

•Getting exposure was always difficult and required tons of energy and interaction. I don’t think Artfol is that bad, the whole “being seen” business is difficult.

•I haven't really noticed a decrease in interactions on my posts, but as I mentioned, it seems to be harder to gain followers lately, and I even lost some followers which honestly made me feel bad :( but I try to remind myself that big numbers aren't as important as personal connections and genuine interaction. I still have at least a few people who have regularly interacted with my posts over the past few months and vice versa, I still interact with a lot of the "regulars" even if I don't follow them!

I do feel like it's getting a bit harder to gain traction, I'm not gaining followers as quickly as I was before, but I think that's just because for some reason right now there aren't as many active users? Like this place was so overcrowded when it released on iOS but then it kinda got quieter than it was right before it released. That being said, I think the new "What's Hot" tab is pretty good, to me it seems like a fair mix of trending art from both popular and unpopular accounts, as well as some posts that seem kinda random, just recent stuff, idk if that's intentional but I feel like it's more fair, because it isn't only popular accounts and posts getting seen! I wish the challenges tab was chronological though. It seems like the same few popular challenges are always at the top, and a lot of them are artist supports which is really annoying because it isn't even an actual challenge
