okay i really need opinions/votes from readers of my webcomic and webcomic fans in general
for a story, would you rather have:
longer, more elaborate chapters that can give larger chunks of story and plot, but only come out every so often (in my case, once a month)?
or
shorter chapters that slowly chip away at the plot, but with much more frequent episodes (in my case, i’d aim for weekly or biweekly episodes)

CommentsIs what I would personally like but I know on webtoon does better. A lot of people seem to have short attention spans now so has an advantage. even though I prefer reading longer chapters, I think shorter chapters are much more manageable for webcomic artists and as long as the story progresses I think it’s not a bad format I chose this because it's the type of story I prefer to read AND to write. I do like webcomics, but I have a preference for those with full chapter updates much like a serialized manga. I have a slow attention span, and I like to simmer on what I'm reading for a bit, so short little bits of a chapter just kinda give me whiplash. Even if I have to wait much longer, a full chapter is worth that wait for me. because it would get more people interested! But I personally think because I hate small chunks of a story- lol they both have pros and cons and
Let me explain. Shorter is for when the webtoon is still ongoing. Frequent chapters mean more engagement.
When it's completed, you can merge the chapters together so the reader doesn't always have to click on next chapter. I think each chapter should be a mini story arc which is a building block of the overall narrative. It's easier for the reader to stay invested if each chapter takes you on a different journey
