Jamie's Journal: La Devoradora
La Devoradora, a creature I made for my own Ark inspired story.Journal Text:
A few days ago I encountered a creature that I have never seen before, neither on the arks, nor in books or documentaries.
It was late evening and almost dark when I went to look for Kiki at the small stream nearby. I had made friends with the little otter a few weeks ago and wanted to see if everything was okay with her.
As I approached I noticed the big animal sitting by the water and I couldn't get rid of the feeling that it was watching me. Kiki was playing in the water and didn't seem to be bothered by the creature and came running towards me happily, as always.
Apparently this behavior seemed to put the big creature, which reminded me of a vicious, much too big otter, at ease and it disappeared into the darkness.
I was confused, especially since Kiki seemed completely unimpressed. She was otherwise rather shy and hid from everything and everyone she didn't know.
Here is a size comparison. I used myself as a benchmark. I myself am not very big, but I think it still shows well how big this creature is.
I have named her "La Devoradora", the devourer, don't ask me why but I somehow think it fits her well.
Here are the teeth in detail. I wonder what they are good for. They look more like tusks than real teeth. Maybe to tear big wounds, so that the prey bleeds to death ?Apr 2, 2023
