The amount of people that are uneducated is insane. Common sense isn’t so common. I made an instagram post spreading light on the issue of body shaming… tell me why my comments were full of people saying I couldn’t relate. (I’m incredibly underweight) (I’ve been made fun of since I was 8 years old because I’m built like a twig)(my
Gymnastics coach would pull me in front of everyone and belittle me. I was an example of what not to be. She told everyone to eat three meals a day or they would end up looking like me. Everyone would laugh. She would also belittle my parents in front of my friends telling them that my parents were terrible because I wasn’t fed enough. (I was a healthy skinny kid)
One of the comments was this “saying skinny people experience insecurity is just like saying white people aren’t racist”.. which.. btw.. can be defined as a red herring.
For all those who disagree with me, let me just say this.. it doesn’t matter what you look like… there will be awful people that shame you. Fat, skinny, short, tall, etc. body shamming isn’t exclusive.Jun 19, 2024

I've been both over and under weight, the body shaming doesn't hurt less either way. The worse is when you're under weight or skinny and still have people commenting on your body like it's bigger

Geez. I grew up being very skinny too and boy, was it intense. The comments some people mad about my appearance were beyond hurtful. From "sack of bones" to "men like women with meat to hold onto, not people like you" like dnsndkkdw so out of touch. Yeah, our harassment is not systematic and everywhere in the fashion industry but to say we can't face bullying or insecurities is stupid. I was always so concerned about being ugly and undesirable because I was "too skinny" even if I was eating healthy and enough
I think there's no way of winning in this society, there will always be something people mock us for.

Ugh, this is such an important message… I wish we all could be more understanding that shaming can happen to just about anyone and destroy their mental health, and even ruin their perception of themselves.
