Traditional ballpoint pen sketch - Fantasy creature

I really want to improve my referenceless art, and to do that I need to memorize and understand anatomy better, and to do THAT I need to do studies.

The reason I don't do studies that often (I don't even remember when was the last time I did studies) is because I feel guilty the more I use references, which is just stupid. For some reason I feel like I should just know and understand everything on my own, without help. It is something I need to work on.Feb 27, 2021
