the battle

Hey there, I love the gloomy atmosphere and the tention a lot :))
Whats wrong with it.. Well it looks like looking without glasses
it's just so soft and blurry you don't know where should your eyes focus.
I would recommend to use hard edge brushes ( probably only hard edge for same time to counter the over use if airbrush brushes) the soft brushes make it all fade together and all plains, the main shapes of the face dissappear under it.
Also since the second character is so much blurred it feels like a macro photography, it's fine to use it to focus the attention on the character in the foreground but he's not in the focus as well, if it would be a photo the focus would be between them closer to him but still behind him.
There is also a mismatch of light sources, you can see a very hard yellow light on the character behind him but almost absent on the character in front, and a very hard cold light from behind the character in front but almost absent on the character in the background. Also notice the direction of the light sources, how many light sources do you have? And from what direction? On the woman the warm light comes from below but it has a different direction on the man, making the warm light on the man's face a different light source then the one on the woman but those two warm light sources are absent on the other character
Definitely the beard is lacking any kind of light, you made the the hair very reflective but there is an absolute absence of light on the beard from the two warm light sources
I like the eyes and nose but the mouth with the mustache feels off, there is really not much space between his upper lip and nose, also the upper lip seems to be too big I would say.
Overall I really like it so far and with just a few touches it can be a very cool painting :))

This is coming out amazing! But I agree with the previous comment, I think you could add more detail on the men's beard and hair. Also on his clothing a little bit. Otherwise, this is coming out very well!
